The Skid Plate™ protects your dog’s chest, stomach, and side areas that are hardest hit when in the field! The Skid Plate™ is a commercial grade chest protector that will prevent both injuries to your dog and costly visits to the veterinarian.

Most orders are processed within 1 to 2 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped. Some made to order items may require additional processing time, please allow 1 week for handcrafting in this scenario. Processing times are separate from the shipping times you see at checkout.

Free shipping on all U.S. orders over $50, orders with free shipping will be mailed USPS first class (under 1 pound) or USPS priority mail (over 1 pound).

When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available.

Skid plate belly protector

Small fits my 36lb brittany with room to grow. Made with durable materials, easy to fit and adjust. He seems to like it and it doesn't restrict any movement when hunting, no chafing so far. Highly recommend!

Bought to replace name brand vests

I was looking for a chest protector for my 4 German shorthairs, something to replace my current name brand vests that were rubbing on their front legs and did not have an overall good fit. I wanted something that was fully adjustable and did not rub. I took my time to properly fit the skid plate to my dogs, no issues or rubbing after 4 full days of hunting. I guide pheasant hunts and run my dogs very often, my dogs need to be protected and comfortable when they hunt. I will be replacing my other 2 name brand vests with 2 new skid plates. Highly recommend!

Just ordered a new size to replace outgrown size. Our hunting lab is growing out and up.

So, we were out last weekend and he hit barb wire at 3/4 speed. The wire was covered with grass about 8 inches off solid ground. We was unhurt except for a couple of puncture wounds from being angled up.

The skid plate saved him from being cut chest to belly. We highly recommend this product. Now we need to patch it up but no regrets.

K9 search and Rescue unit,

Our German Shepards are eager to go through heavy brush, to find a missing person, so far the Skid Plate is doing it's job, We only have one Skid Plate, so we will see.

This is the Real Deal - not junk you find elsewhere

I have a German Shepherd and a Malinois. They both field flush. The Malinois has very thin underside and this protector is awesome. Its sturdy and holds up to just about anything. I've never had one rip. I just wish this company made (top) vests with the same material and quality.
